I started on the 'cello and the piano when i was quite young and moved up to the Double Bass when I went to Secondary School. My skills with a piano have always eluded me so I took a left -turn and tried the bassoonin senior school. I even managed to get to Grade 8 on both instruments before I left school at eighteen.
Although I studied music at university, I had always wanted to be a sound engineer, so I did recording instead of performance. Despite that I still played in the orchestra, chamber orchestra, new music ensemble, big band and many other groups during my time at Kingston University. I took tuition on bass guitar to improve my improvisation skills and to work on my funk plus it was easier to cart a bass guitar around than a massive double bass!
"I have worked with Peter as a fellow musician in the pit and have been lead by him as my musical director. He is a superb bass player, both on the electric and upright and is the rock, which keeps this guitarist in check. A consumate musician, a pleasure to work with and lucky enough to call a friend."
